Sasha Shoots Frick, 12x12”
Paper collage, acrylic, ink, glue, china marker, on canvas
Based on Shane’s reading of Emma Goldman’s autobiography about her dear friend Sasha Alexander Berkman shooting Henry Clay Frick, chairman of Carnegie Steel company. This was related to brutal treatment of workers during the homestead strike in Pittsburgh, July 1892. This was a tactic called “Propaganda by Deed.” The goal was to start a workers’ revolution.
