Hue is a collection of songs focused on color. What do you think of when you see certain colors? Red: warning, danger, excitement, race cars and sex? Blue: a cool calm swimming pool shade or a hard sapphire of a crown? Both blue but two totally different connotations, reactions, symbolic meanings.
Johnny & Reg explored the connection between color and sound; associations and emotional reactions. Essentially, how do colors make you feel and what would those feelings sound like.
As always, the duo collected sounds while traveling. The recording contains samples from Morocco, loops created in Malaysia, and a song written while stuck in traffic in Sacramento. All of it combined and completed at their homebase in Basel (Switzerland).
